Our Church: Our Pastor:
![]() Messiah Community Church is a multi-cultural non-denominational church located in Wyoming, Ohio. We meet every Sunday morning at 10:30 AM at 308 East Mills Ave. Everyone is welcome regardless of denominational, economic or cultural background. Children's Ministry is available for every service in Kids Kingdom. Our Worship Service features live music with cutting edge and spontaneous songs as well as old favorite hymns of the church. Messiah Community Church Ministries was founded in July 2000 by Wayne and Betty Fox along with 5 other families. The focus was to develop a church that mirrored as closely as possible the New Testament model from the Book Of Acts. Messiah Community is a church without agendas. The goal is to grow people individually not people generally. In other words, the church was not founded to have a volume of people but to grow one individual person at a time into a fully developed powerful believer worthy of the name "saint". Messiah Community is a church where the "Word" is taught. There is a strong emphasis on balance and accuracy in the teaching. The teaching is Bible based from a fundamental standard aimed at developing healthy relationships with God and men. New believers and seasoned Christians will learn and be challenged by the messages from our teachers. The life of a believer is a never ending learning process. We are always being conformed to the image and likeness of Christ. Our goal is to teach people how to walk with God in every area of life with power, passion and praise.
The gifts of the Spirit are allowed to operate decently and in order. There is a social government with Elders, Deacons and Ministry Gifts all in their proper order serving the Body of Christ in general and specifically at Messiah Community Church. The Pastor is the visionary head but is a servant to the body of believers. In developing a healthy and safe atmosphere for people, safeguards were installed in our bylaws that allow for a "balance of power" so that God remains as the Head of the Church. Our worship is open allowing all Biblical forms of expression including raising hands, bowing, dancing, clapping, shouting, and spontaneous song. We have live music with various instruments and original songs are often part of our worship experience. Our belief is that worship opens the hearts of people to receive the Word and allows God to minister supernaturally to the worshipper's heart. In February of 2002 the church moved from The Harbour Club halls in Mt. Healthy to it's current location in Wyoming (see map). God richly blessed us to give us our own facility which holds approximately 280 people. Since we are a community of believers we believe we ought to be active and a part of the local community. We hold open picnics and events that reach out to the community around us. There are also outreach ministries that reach to various venues around Greater Cincinnati. In our balance as a church we believe in both in-reach and out-reach. Our message is simple: Jesus saves, delivers and heals. We believe in the power of the Gospel to change the hearts of men, restore relationships, heal the sick, and mend the broken hearted. In August 2003 we began developing a missions program called "Missions Central". This is going to be a program that reaches to our homeland as well as foreign mission fields. It is also aimed at the rapid deployment and support of independent missionaries. You may read more about this arm of the ministry in the missions section. Pastor Wayne and Betty Fox Wayne and Betty Fox are native Cincinnatians. They both grew up on the west side of the city from very different backgrounds. Wayne was a Roman Catholic from a typical west side family while Betty grew up with little religious experience. They both attended Northwest High School and were very active in athletic and cultural activities at the school. They married in October 1976 and have two adult children who are active in the church. Wayne accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior of his life in March of 1980 and Betty in April 1980. Wayne was called to the ministry 2 years later in the Baptist church they attended. They both worked in outreach ministry going to the juvenile centers of Hamilton, Butler and Clermont counties. They also held religious services in over 10 area nursing facilities.
Wayne was responsible for the evangelism arm of Jesus Is Over The Rhine ministry during the 1990's. Betty sang in many of the area's Baptist churches along with her sister Linda. Wayne was the pastor of Cornerstone Baptist Church in College Hill and was on staff at a large non-denominational church in Fairfield. Both have had biblical education through Bethany Bible College and have been students of the Word since salvation.
Wayne and Betty love people and believe in the individual believer's right to work out their own salvation in fear and trembling. Wayne's main gift is teaching while Betty is exceptionally gifted in administration. They believe the ministry will grow when people in the ministry grow. God has used them in healing, prophecy, and, more importantly, bringing salvation to the lost souls of men. They believe in a strong salvation experience and a deep walk of genuine faith. Both work outside the church at secular jobs where they maintain contact with the real world people live in everyday.
The sermons are taught in series and tear into the deep things of Scripture applied practically and spiritually. Jesus is the focal point of both the worship and the Word.
