Wildfire Youth Ministry Kids Kingdom
![]() Wildfire is Messiah Community Church's Youth Group for youth in middle school and high school. Our youth are involved in discussions, activities, and their own worship service. These promote right thinking and spiritual growth in a fun but serious atmosphere. Our High School Youth meet on Sunday nights at 6:00PM while the Middle School Youth meet on Sunday morning during church service times. Both have a format geared toward their respective times of life. We are in the early stages of developing a youth group that promotes sound doctrine in an atmosphere of fun and creativity. Our new Youth Director is Mike Morgan. He is a (young) retired Navy Senior Chief and is currently one of the ROTC Directors for Dayton Dunbar High School. Mike has a teenage son and 2 daughters in their early 20's. He has a great understanding of how to build people who are confident, sound thinkers, motivated, and individual. His goals include involving our youth in outreach adventures that genuinely help people. Our youth under his leadership will develop character that will guide them through the rest of their lives. He teaches life by the Word not by some legalistic doctrine. Mike is compassionate yet strong with a real passion for youth. We are currently seeking high school youth and young adults that have a heart toward God and who can play instruments to help us form a youth worship band as well as singers. Our goal is to form the best youth band in the city both in quality of music and in quality of their Christian life practices. We have no preconceived plan on how to build the youth group into something somebody else is doing. We want our youth to build what they want in a youth group under Mike's leadership. It will be something unique, Godly, aggressive, full of love, not judgmental, progressive, caring, passionate, compassionate, lively, fun, trendy and holy. Everyone of every cultural background and life experience is welcome. Mission Objectives of Wildfire: -Teach teenagers right thinking and how to live a life based on what the Bible teaches. To give them encouragement for every day life and instruction on how to conquer all the corruptive situations that a teenager may encounter. Love... Spread God's Love to everyone and anyone that is looking for it by... We want our teens to be radical about what they believe. Not radical for the sake of being radical about just anything. But to honestly and deeply know what they believe about God, Jesus, themselves, and the world around them that tries to influence their every thought. Our teens learn how to respect themselves first then others in keeping with Jesus command to love your neighbor as you love yourself. Our teens have a boldness to stand on core foundational beliefs which create right character. We teach them that life isn't what people see on the outside but rather who they are on the inside. They learn to honor God, country, their family and friends. They are youth who have a purpose and mission in their individual lives as well as as a group. Goal setting is a major theme but they also are given the opportunity to receive the tools or develop the tools to reach their goals. Life should be lived by faith fueled by love. -Live life to the fullest. God is fun. He is serious work but He is also incredibly fun. There is a lot of fun in being successful, helping someone, solving a crisis, discovering new things, growing up, and experiencing all that God has for us. Oh yeah we have stuff to do to. Things like video games, foosball, and just plain fun outings. If you can't have fun working with God, you can't have fun. We believe our youth should be busy doing stuff. But not just stuff ..... stuff that develops their character, challenges their abilities, test their courage, and relieves their stress. Living life as a Christian shouldn't put you into the High School Yearbook of Weirdoes. It should put you into the book at the top of whatever it is you like to do. It should make you the go to person for those in need or with their own challenges. Everybody might not love you but they all will respect you for your resolve, consistency, purity and faith. Kids Kingdom is where the children (5-9) go to play and learn about God in a fun and inspiring environment. They have a room decorated just for them. The Word of God is taught using creative methods that get the children interested in exercising their faith and memorizing the Word. The children are rewarded using "service sticks" which can be redeemed quarterly on "Redemption Days". They can swap out their service sticks for electronic prizes, games, candy, and many other fun items. Children ages 10-12 are taught in a pre-teen atmosphere by teachers who prepare lessons dealing with the issues many adolescents face as they prepare to enter middle school. They are given an opportunity every week to commit their lives to Christ in a real and personal way. Our teachers do an excellent job of keeping the information moving at a quick pace and having it be meaningful to their young lives. Another part of Kids Kingdom is the toddler class. Children ages 2yrs to 4 yrs can go to a special class just for them where they will learn the Word of God and the principles of the Kingdom of God in little baby bites. They have the opportunity have fun, learn and win prizes all in a spiritual environment. All of our children participate in their own worship service especially geared to the children. This worship service is entertaining, fast moving and filled with music they will memorize and repeat throughout their week. Scripture memory verses are also given to help them grow in their walk with Jesus and to learn to walk by faith in the Word. **A nice, clean, safe Nursery is provided during service times for children under 2 yrs. |
